  Why did my backup not work???

 

Jayhawk Software's FTP Backup offers a web-based, secure, off-site backup solution for your business or organization.

If you are currently using our backup solution and you did not get a backup, here are the most common issues that will prevent your web backup from running correctly. If you have addressed all these issues and still have a problem, please contact us.

 

All Computers that are used for backup must be on

bulletPC that has the Jayhawk FTP Backup program must be left on
bulletAll PCs on a network with files selected to be backed up must be left on
bulletLoss of power (storms)

Incorrect username/password typed in the Jayhawk FTP Backup  program

Not connected to the Internet

bulletLost connection from your ISP (Internet Service Provider)
bulletPower interruptions (your location or ISP location)

File(s) to be backed up were in use or no longer existed

bulletProgram using the file may have been left open
bulletAnti-Virus program (Norton, AVG, InoculateIT, McAfee) scanning the file
bulletAnti-Virus program prevents transferring the file
bulletDefragging the hard drive
bulletFile was deleted
bulletFile was moved and was not corrected in the Jayhawk Backup file selection

Your Web Backup space capacity is reached

bullet Deleted old or unnecessary files from the Jayhawk FTP Server Backup folder
bullet Contact Jayhawk Software about increasing your backup space
 

System date of PC with Jayhawk FTP Backup program was changed to a day that was not on the backup schedule
