What is the S4 System?
The Series 3 systems were our most popular versions prior to the Jayhawk Utility Suite.  We have combined the most popular add-ons from the Series 3 and added new features, changed the pricing structure and now offer it as the S4. The S4 system was designed from customer suggestions with ease of use and flexibility in mind, and offers an array of features for smaller utility billing customers.
This system also supports the separate Account/Premise billing model, which is illustrated best by our on-line demo. This feature allows a person who moves away to continue to make payments, get past due notices and late charges even if a new customer has moved into his/her previous premise (contact us for a demo at your convenience).

S4 NEW Features

The S4 now offers the new time-saving Batch Usage Entry and Batch Receipts Entry features that had been previously offered only in our larger city/utility district solution, JUS.  Another new feature is the Category field on the Premise screen that allows you to organize and print billing reports by the user-defined categories.

Batch Usage Entry lets you enter the readings for a group of customers and verify the readings before you actually save them to the customers' premises.  The Batch Usage Report shows the readings, usage, special activity (rollovers, change outs, estimates) and the projected bill amount allowing you to catch potential errors BEFORE they are saved to the customer resulting in fewer errors and adjustments.

Batch Receipts Entry lets you enter the receipts for a group of customers and verify those payments before you actually save them to the customers' accounts.  The Batch Receipts Report shows the bill amount, amount paid, and remaining amount due (including the distribution breakdown) allowing you to catch potential errors BEFORE they are saved to the customer resulting in fewer errors and adjustments.  This feature also allows you to indicate customer payment type (check/cash/etc.) and reference and balance the total to your bank deposit before posting to the customers.

S4 System Overview

The base system supports two Stepped Utility Services (based on one metered  rate) and two Fixed Utility Services (each Service can have up to 99 different charge rates). For example, this system would work for a small district that bills for Water, Sewer, and Trash for up to 500 billable customers. It tracks information based on premise and/or account, storing history on both.

The system can be expanded with other features and support for additional Utility Services like Electric and Gas  and expanded to handle over 10,000 billable customers.

Our systems are structured to be affordable for small districts but can be expanded to handle the needs of large districts. For larger districts, our software also has modules available to interface with automated meter-reading handheld devices, electronic payment generation, postal bar-coding and other modules that will save you time and money.

We also offer a Customer Read Software (sometimes referred to as Self-Read) that is designed for districts that have the customer read his/her own meter and send in the reading with his/her payment. The CRS features are similar to our S4 and we have a Customer Read demo available if you would like to contact us and request it.
